Lotte World
An inevitable activity while in Korea is going to Lotte World wearing school uniforms. Unfortunately, despite going on a weekday and being there from opening until closing, my friends were only able to do three rides since the park was just insanely packed. Since I am scared of rides, I only did the bumper cars. At the time, Lotte World was having a collaboration with Dark Moon with Enhypen, in which we spent two and a half hours waiting for a picture of the Dark Moon-themed castle. I bought my Lotte World ticket through Klook.
K-Link
I attended the 2024 K-Link Festival which was held in Incheon on Saturday, October 5th. I was able to get a ticket for this festival directly from the ticketing site (Ticketlink) during the general ticketing period and the ticket cost was free. As this was an event organized by the Korean Ministry of Sports, Culture, and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization, I only had to pay a 4,000 KRW fee to the ticketing site. The lineup for the festival featured four groups on my list of artists I wanted to see in Korea, and I can’t believe I got to see them for only $3. There were also many tours available on travel sites such as Klook and Trazy where they took people to the venue on a shuttle bus and visited other areas in Korea throughout the day, but I chose to purchase my ticket individually and get to the concert on my own.
However, my friends and I experienced a series of unfortunate events while trying to get to the venue and back home which included an unbelievably chaotic train ride and constantly not being able to find our buses. This may make me reconsider attending concerts in Incheon in the future.
Nami Island
Nami Island is about three hours away from Yonsei and is a very scenic place to go for a day trip. From Gapyeong to Nami Island, I took a zipline that was less than two minutes long. I never thought I’d zipline to an island, but it actually wasn’t scary. While exploring the island, we found a place where we could rent row boats and duck boats to go around on a lake. I went on a duck boat for 30 minutes and it was really fun because there were mini waves from speed boats passing by making our boat rock. We took the ferry back to Gapyeong which did not require a ticket.
Everland
Everland is a theme park that is about two hours away from Yonsei. In comparison to Lotte World, I liked Everland a lot better as it wasn’t as busy and there’s so much more to do. Everland not only has rides but also a zoo and a beautiful garden. During the spring, the garden was Sanrio-themed, but even though I missed the event, the gift shop was still selling Sanrio merchandise. Currently, Everland is doing a collaboration with Riize called Ever Riize. I purchased the Ever Riize Pass through Creatrip which included my ticket to Everland, a photocard with a member of my choice, a mobile mission game, and a character tattoo sticker. After completing the mobile mission game, I also received a random photocard.
Thoughts
The weather is starting to get chillier, so I need to buy more winter clothes ASAP. I’m so excited to see what Seoul looks like with the autumn foliage. Thanks for reading <3
